Our Commitment

Iranian Citizen Services (ICS) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards. We believe every person deserves equal access to information about Iranian consular document services.

Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines helps make the web more user-friendly for everyone.

This website is built with semantic HTML, keyboard-accessible navigation, and sufficient color contrast throughout. We are actively working toward full AA conformance.

Measures Taken

• ✓Semantic HTML structure with proper landmark regions (main, nav, header, footer)
• ✓Skip-to-main-content link as the first focusable element on every page
• ✓Keyboard-accessible navigation throughout the site, including mobile menu
• ✓Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements
• ✓Color contrast ratios meeting WCAG 2.1 AA minimums (4.5:1 for normal text)
• ✓Alternative text provided for all meaningful images
• ✓All form fields are associated with visible labels via for/id pairing
• ✓Required fields marked with both visible indicators and aria-required
• ✓ARIA attributes used for dynamic components (mobile menu aria-expanded)
• ✓Respects prefers-reduced-motion for users with vestibular disorders
• ✓html lang='en' declared for screen reader language detection
• ✓Unique, descriptive page titles on every page

Known Limitations

We are aware of the following areas that are not yet fully conformant and are actively working to address them:

• —Embedded Google Maps iframes may not be fully navigable by keyboard or screen reader. The office address is also available in plain text on the Contact and About pages.
• —Third-party form submission service (FormSubmit) may have accessibility limitations outside our control. We will evaluate self-hosted alternatives.

Formal Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility concern, you may contact the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, regarding ADA compliance for websites.
